Assessing physician attitudes towards digital health tools

A specialist physician study across eight markets, where verification and scheduling mattered more than sample size.

Physician reviewing patient data on a tablet

The brief

Measure attitudes to digital health tools among practising specialists in eight markets, with a sample of 60 per market and licence verification on every respondent.

The problem

Specialist availability was the binding constraint, not willingness. The sample needed physicians in active practice with meaningful patient volume, which ruled out a substantial share of the panel-registered physician population.

What we did

  • Verified registration against public registers in the five markets where they are accessible, and by documentary evidence elsewhere
  • Screened on patient volume and practice setting as well as specialty
  • Ran recruit-to-schedule with appointment interviewing rather than open fielding
  • Held the honorarium at fair market value per market, with transparency reporting where required

The outcome

All eight markets landed on target within the field window, with a documented verification trail per market. Rejection rates at the verification stage varied from 8% to 31% between markets — a variation the client had not anticipated and which changed how they read the cross-market comparison.
