B2B fieldwork benchmarks: what incidence and cost look like in practice
Incidence assumptions carried over from consumer research are the usual reason a B2B study runs over. Here is what the field data actually shows.

Industries
Financial services research sits between a regulator and a customer, and has to satisfy both: compliant in how it is conducted, and honest about what customers actually understand.
Research solutions
Relationship and transactional research across retail banking, insurance, wealth and lending, fielded by whichever mode the customer base actually responds to.
Concept, pricing and communication testing with comprehension measured rather than assumed — which is usually where a proposition succeeds or fails.
Financial advisers, brokers, corporate treasurers and institutional decision-makers, verified against regulatory registers where those exist.
How we work in this sector
Where research is used as evidence of customer understanding, the method has to be defensible as well as informative. We document sampling, screening and fieldwork in a form that can be handed to a compliance function, and we will not design a test whose result is predetermined by how the question is framed.
Research touching financial difficulty, bereavement or diminished capacity needs interviewer training, referral routes and an explicit stop rule. We agree those before fieldwork and brief every interviewer on them.
Financial research routinely brushes against data that should not leave the client's systems. We design sampling and data flows to keep it there, and to keep what we do hold to the minimum the study needs.
