Telephone Research (CATI)

Some audiences are simply not reachable online in any representative way. Senior executives, clinicians, farmers, tradespeople and older consumers all answer the phone in numbers that online panels cannot match.

Our CATI operation is built around that: experienced interviewers who can hold a conversation with a specialist, calling in the respondent's time zone and their own language.

  • B2B and executive interviewing by trained specialists
  • Multi-time-zone calling operations
  • Live monitoring and structured back-checking
  • Local-language interviewers in every market fielded

Our capabilities

What our telephone research (cati) service covers

We own the workflow end to end, which is what makes a single point of accountability possible rather than just claimable.

B2B and executive interviewing

Interviewers briefed on the sector, capable of getting past a gatekeeper and holding a credible conversation with a decision-maker.

Time-zone coverage

Calling windows set by the respondent's working day rather than ours, with call scheduling and appointment interviewing where seniority demands it.

Local-language interviewing

Native-language interviewers in each market fielded, with translated questionnaires reviewed in market before launch.

Monitoring and back-checking

Live listen-in, full call recording where consent and regulation allow, and back-checking against a defined share of completes.

Sample management

Call attempt rules, callback scheduling and outcome coding applied consistently, with response rate reported the way you need it calculated.

Mixed-mode designs

CATI used alongside online or face-to-face collection where a single mode would bias the sample, with mode effects tracked and reported.

Included in every project

Standard on every engagement, not an upgrade

The same six things are included whichever service a project starts from. They are the reason our quotes look like they do.

Screening design

We work through your screener with you before fieldwork opens — quota alignment, incidence estimation and disqualification logic, agreed in writing.

Multi-source recruitment

Our own panel across core markets plus a vetted partner network reaching 35+ countries. No single source carries a project; diversity of sourcing is what keeps the sample honest.

Layered quality assurance

Screener validation, digital fingerprinting against duplicates, automated response scoring, analyst review and post-field back-checking where the study calls for it.

Confirmation and scheduling

Reminder workflows for qualitative work, with standby replacements held as standard so a no-show does not become a gap in your data.

Incidence reporting

Funnel data and incidence rates before and during fieldwork, so a feasibility problem reaches you while there is still time to act on it.

A named project manager

One person accountable from brief to delivery, with daily field updates — not a shared inbox and not a ticket queue.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions — telephone research (cati)

Are calls recorded?
Where consent and local regulation allow, yes, and recordings are available to you for quality review. Where they do not, live monitoring and back-checking cover the same ground.
How many call attempts do you make?
Set with you before fieldwork, typically six to eight attempts spread across different days and times before a number is retired as unreachable.
Can you reach senior decision-makers?
Yes. Executive interviewing is a significant share of our CATI work. It costs more per interview than consumer calling and we quote it honestly rather than discovering it mid-field.
Do you handle appointment-based interviewing?
Yes — recruit-to-schedule with confirmation and reminders, which is usually the only workable approach for clinicians and senior executives.
